County Laois
From A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland, Samuel Lewis, 1837:
An inland county of the province of Leinster, bounded on the east by the counties of Kildare and Carlow, on the north by the King's county, on the west by the same and Tipperary county, and on the south by the counties of Kilkenny and Carlow.
Also known as County Laoighis, County Leix, Queen's County.
